Article: A whimsical inlay project

This is a little banjo fingerboard inlay I did about ten years ago, for a dental professional. I had forgotten about it until the instrument came in recently for a new head. This gave me the opportunity to photograph it to share with you.
From a few feet away, to a casual observer it looks like a part of a standard Gibson banjo inlay pattern .
